Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick Review - Redrum and Unicorn Blood

Image
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick Review Redrum and Unicorn Blood  Let's be honest here, liquid lipsticks are all the rage right now. You see every brand coming out with them, and see them everywhere online.  There is a reason to this madness however, liquid lipsticks are amazing. Its like applying a lipgloss, but having great pigmentation and typically a matte finish that lasts all day. So with that being said, here's my review on Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks in both Redrum and Unicorn Blood. Before we start this review, I want to mention that I purchased both of these with my own money, and that my opinions are my own.  I will admit, I'm very fair skinned. I am about as fair or pale as someone can get. If you're not as fair as me they will probably look a lot different on you.   So please make point with these photos. Redrum Redrum is your typical classic red lipstick shade. When you think of a pi

Rainbow Sprinkles

Hello my lovelies :) So with this look I wanted to try something out of the box for me personally....and that is anything rainbow. Typically when I do makeup, I like it a bit dark, dramatic, and smokey. Though because it's my favorite style, it's been getting me into a creative rut.  So I came up with this rainbow look for fun! Used all Sugarpill Cosmetics eyeshaodws from all the classic quad palettes.  To keep things simple and to tie the look together, I opted for a mauve/nude lip. It added a bit of color, but also was muted enough to not overpower the eyes (which I wasn't looking to do) I also filled in my eyebrows with a dark espresso shade from the Lorac Pro to Go palette to frame the brighter colors better. Also went with a light contour and highlight to add some extra definition. Hope you enjoy :) xoxo Kitten ------------------ Products Used Face: L'oreal True Match - W1 Essence All About Matt! Hello :) This look was a little different than I normally do. Typically I try to keep the eyes or lips the darker and more main focus, but I wanted to mix it up today. One of my favorite blue eyeshadows is this gorgeous color in the Urban Decay Vice 3 called 'Freeze'. Its very shimmery and has a very beautiful reflect, especially if its on a black base.  I saw a look on Instagram that inspired this in a way. She had this gorgeous dark red lip with a blue eyeshadow dusted on top to give the matte lipstick more dimension. But since I was going out I wanted to keep things a bit more muted so I decided to opt for the blue eyeshadow instead of the blue pigment on the lips. I'll be writing a review soon on the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks in the shades 'Redrum' and 'Unicorn Blood' in the next few days. (This photo is true to color if you're curious about 'Unicorn Blood' and its shade on fair skin) xoxo Kitte

Lovesick

Hello my lovelies :) So while I was in New York City on vacation I got a few thngs at Sephora. The first item being the Too Faced Primed and Poreless Face Primer. I've used this a few times now and can say it really helps my foundation stay matte all day(though I also use a matteifying setting spray). I've also noticed it helps make my dry skin not as visible through my foundation. I'm not too sure if I would repurchase it again since I have only tried it with the Maybelline Fit Me! foundation, but for right now I like the results it gives me.  The second item I purchased was Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lovesick. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this liquid lipstick. First off, let's start with the packaging. I'm really digging the sleek and slim design. Its about the size of a pen (but a bit bigger of course) and isn't bulky in my makeup bag. Another thing that I really like is the applicator. Comparing it to the NY

Red Ombre Pin-Up

Hello my lovelies :) Today's make-up was inspired by the classic pin-up's but as always, I like to darken it up. So with that being said, I used darker shades to make a slight cut crease, but stuck to the classic look of matte eyeshadows.  To also stick with the classic look, I paired it with a classic red lip, but with an ombre gradient to make it  have a more modern twist. Normally I'm not able to make a decent gradient ombre with lipsticks, but I tried using the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks in Redrum and Unicorn Blood. And it turned out better than I had expected since they are fast drying and have a matte finish. What I did was use a lip brush (the OCC lipbrush that comes with liptars) and outlined my lips in Unicorn Blood and slighting brought it in. I than applied Redrum in the middle and with using the lip brush I blended it out slightly. Then to make sure I had a nice gradient and to make sure the edges were more crisp, I used a litt

Was a gorgeous yet very warm day out today. This is my typical natural face makeup that I use, and it doesn't melt away after being outside for a few hours. Products Used Face: Maybelline Fit Me!
