Twilight Eyes and Mauve Lips (Jeffree Star Cosmetics Androgyny Review)

Image
Why hello :) Sorry for the delay in this, but I thought I'd make a point to write a review on Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Androgyny since online Jeffree said that due to so much requesting, it will be coming out in February 2016 in the permanent line. When I had bought this from their holiday collection a few weeks ago, I had bought Androgyny along with Drug Lord, which is an opaque matte white liquid lipstick. As of right now Androgyny is sold out, but you can still get Drug Lord if you so wish. As for the review, here's some background information. With all of Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour  Liquid Lipsticks you get 0.19 oz. for $18 each. (Keep in mind shipping is $6 flat unless you spend $100). Which comparing it to other high end liquid lipstick prices compared to ounces, that's a really decent price. All Jeffree Star Cosmetic's Velour Liquid lipsticks are Cruelty-Free, Vegan, and eye safe. On the website it also says that Andr

Bride of Frankenstein Stitched Face Makeup

Image
Hello :) This is a look I did for Halloween and a day before for a test run. A lot of inspiration from Rick Baker's 'Bride of Frankenstein' makeup he did with MAC Cosmetics a few years ago for the Halloween season. This lasted me all day with the use of minimal products. It took an additional 20 minutes on top of my make-up routine to do the stitches and shading. All this look consists of is your regular makeup (in a deadly fashion of course) lipliners in a nude pink and deep red, mauve toned blush, taupe eyeshadow for shading, and liquid latex for the the thread to adhear to the face. ----------------------- Products Used Face: Too Faced Primed and Poreless Primer Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Foundation - 42 Essence All About Matt! Pumpkin Spice

Why Hello :) It's been awhile since I've posted on here. Today's look is inspired by fall. I used a beautiful orange (Sugarpill's Flamepoint) amongst some neutral browns, red (Sugarpill's Love+), with a slight hint of purple to deepen the sut crease (Sugarpill's Poison Plum). As you guys have probably guessed, Sugarpill is one of my favorite makeup brands. Even though they don't have neutral eyeshadows in their collections, if you mix the eyeshadows with more muted colors such as taupes and basic neutrals, you can achieve a muted colorful look such as what I did here. I paired this look with my favorite liquid lipstick, Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lovesick. It's a purpley mauve that has cool undertones. I typically use this lipstick and her Studded Kiss Lipstick in Lovecraft as my neutrals :) Hope you all have a wonderful day! xoxo Kitten ----------------------- Products Used Face: Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Founda

Fall Look

Hello :) So today's look I came up with this. Super simple 10 minute makeup really. Seafoam Green Cut Crease

Image
Hello :) So today's look is something I normally don't gravitate to. That being said, here is a seafoam green look with a yellow inner corner. For a few days now I have really been wanting to use the eyeshadow 'Buttercupcake' from Sugarpill in a look. I also really wanted to do something with greens and blues. So this is what I came up with :) ----------------------- Products Used Face: Maybelline Fit Me! Matte and Poreless Foundation - 110  Essence All About Matt! Simple Smokey Eye - Gothic Glam

Image
Hello :) So one of my favorite looks of all time to wear is a black smokey eye. It's one of my staple looks that I always go back to time after time again. Not only does it last literally all day, but it also is very universal for every eye shape and color. You can also change the undertones from a neutral (what I have here) to a more cool tone or even warm tone by just changing up the transitional colors.  One thing I recommend with dark eyeshadow is wearing a base ontop of the eyeshadow primer and all over the area you want the black eyeshadow to be rich and pigmented.  I suggest keeping the base out of the crease, but bringing it rather close. This is what allows it to stay all day. I typically use Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner in Black as my base for this look since it has an excellent wear time.  If you want to do a super fall cool-toned smokey eye like this, I recommend trying Sigma - Elysses and MAC - Sketch eyeshadows. They're very cool toned wine sh

Red Eyeliner - Look Inspired By Roses

Image
Hello! So today's look is inspired by roses. I used all pinks, purples, and reds.  After I heard that Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick's were eye safe and had seen a few people on Instagram use them as eyeliners, I had to try it. Though I know a lot of people have irritation to red pigments,I however dont'. It applied well and smoothly to the lids, lasted extremely well (I had this makeup on for over 20 hours and it never smeared or faded), and didn't flake off. Oddly I almost prefer Unicorn Blood as an eyeliner instead of on the lips since it just doesn't look good on me in my opinion.  I recommend trying this trick with the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks if you haven't already :) -Kitten ----------------------- Products Used Face: Kat Von D Lock It Foundation - 42 Essence All About Matt! Weight Loss

Image
Hello :) So here is something I've not talked much on my blog, but if you follow me on other sites you will know of. I have lost 40 lbs roughly since last November/December. It's a big accomplishment for me since it's something I've wanted to do for the last few years but wasn't motivated enough to do it. I gained a lot of weight due to stress and being extremely lazy my last year of high school and my first two years of college. I wasn't healthy, nor cared if I wasn't.  I'll admit, I didn't lose my weight for a good reason, nor really for myself. I liked a boy at the time I started questioning if I should, and we had a big fight and ended up not talking for a few months....but I wanted to better myself and look good. So I decided to drop as much weight as I felt I needed to. By no means do I recommend losing weight for my reasons, but I will say I don't regret any minute of it.  I first started going vegetarian to lose weight. I

Fall Grunge Look

Image
Hello :) So I don't know about everyone else, but I'm really wanting fall! With the leaves changing colors, cold nights, and hot cups of tea in the morning.....ah it sounds just wonderful. And don't forget about pumpkin spice everything. This look is based around the Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Raw Powder. It's extremely metallic and a burnt rust/burgundy shade. In this look I paired it with a dark brown smokey eye and applied 'raw powder' onto the lid. For me I think this eyeshadow would look best with warm toned eyeshadows or browns and blacks.  One thing I'd like to mention about this eyeshadow is that if you apply it with a brush it's just a big pain in the a**. I really recommend applying it with your fingers so you can pack on the color and get it's true pigmentation. Other than that, it's a beautiful eyeshadow with a great formula. It's a perfect fall shade and is great for those smokey grunge looks we all love

Bittersweet Makeup

Hello :) So lately I havent been feeling all too well and just overall just don't feel good. So I have been keeping with my faveorite makeup of all time. This look is one I've worn for over 4 years now, and I always go back to it. It looks great with any lip color (black, deep reds, berries, pinks, purples, etc.) and if you have green or hazel eyes, it'll make them pop like crazy!  One thing I like about this look is that it's both dramatic but very simple to do. Once you get the hang of it, it's easy to add different colors to it to make it a different look :) --- In writing this is how I do it and what eyeshadows/products I use from my product list below: 1.) Apply an eyeshadow base all over your lid and up to the brow bone (Too Faced Shadow Insurance) 2.) Sweep a eyeshadow color all over your lid and up to your brow bone that is the same color as your skin tone. ('Urban Decay Vice 3' - Truth with a mix of 'Too Faced Chocol

Blue and Purple Gradient Makeup

Hello :) So this is a look I did the other day. While doing a previous look (Rainbow Sprinkles) I really liked the way that Sugarpill's Afterparty and Poison Plum blended into each other. I actually almost kept it that way instead of adding the other colors within that look. So I decided to recreate it with this, but added some of Sugarpill's loose pigment in 'Lumi' which let's be honest is probably one of the most gorgeous pigments out their.  Hope you enjoy :) Kitten --------------------- Products Used Face: Maybelline Fit Me! Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick Review - Redrum and Unicorn Blood

Image
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick Review Redrum and Unicorn Blood  Let's be honest here, liquid lipsticks are all the rage right now. You see every brand coming out with them, and see them everywhere online.  There is a reason to this madness however, liquid lipsticks are amazing. Its like applying a lipgloss, but having great pigmentation and typically a matte finish that lasts all day. So with that being said, here's my review on Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks in both Redrum and Unicorn Blood. Before we start this review, I want to mention that I purchased both of these with my own money, and that my opinions are my own.  I will admit, I'm very fair skinned. I am about as fair or pale as someone can get. If you're not as fair as me they will probably look a lot different on you.   So please make point with these photos. Redrum Redrum is your typical classic red lipstick shade. When you think of a pi

Rainbow Sprinkles

Image
Hello my lovelies :) So with this look I wanted to try something out of the box for me personally....and that is anything rainbow. Typically when I do makeup, I like it a bit dark, dramatic, and smokey. Though because it's my favorite style, it's been getting me into a creative rut.  So I came up with this rainbow look for fun! Used all Sugarpill Cosmetics eyeshaodws from all the classic quad palettes.  To keep things simple and to tie the look together, I opted for a mauve/nude lip. It added a bit of color, but also was muted enough to not overpower the eyes (which I wasn't looking to do) I also filled in my eyebrows with a dark espresso shade from the Lorac Pro to Go palette to frame the brighter colors better. Also went with a light contour and highlight to add some extra definition. Hope you enjoy :) xoxo Kitten ------------------ Products Used Face: L'oreal True Match - W1 Essence All About Matt! Illuminated

Image
Hello :) This look was a little different than I normally do. Typically I try to keep the eyes or lips the darker and more main focus, but I wanted to mix it up today. One of my favorite blue eyeshadows is this gorgeous color in the Urban Decay Vice 3 called 'Freeze'. Its very shimmery and has a very beautiful reflect, especially if its on a black base.  I saw a look on Instagram that inspired this in a way. She had this gorgeous dark red lip with a blue eyeshadow dusted on top to give the matte lipstick more dimension. But since I was going out I wanted to keep things a bit more muted so I decided to opt for the blue eyeshadow instead of the blue pigment on the lips. I'll be writing a review soon on the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks in the shades 'Redrum' and 'Unicorn Blood' in the next few days. (This photo is true to color if you're curious about 'Unicorn Blood' and its shade on fair skin) xoxo Kitte

Lovesick

Image
Hello my lovelies :) So while I was in New York City on vacation I got a few thngs at Sephora. The first item being the Too Faced Primed and Poreless Face Primer. I've used this a few times now and can say it really helps my foundation stay matte all day(though I also use a matteifying setting spray). I've also noticed it helps make my dry skin not as visible through my foundation. I'm not too sure if I would repurchase it again since I have only tried it with the Maybelline Fit Me! foundation, but for right now I like the results it gives me.  The second item I purchased was Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lovesick. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this liquid lipstick. First off, let's start with the packaging. I'm really digging the sleek and slim design. Its about the size of a pen (but a bit bigger of course) and isn't bulky in my makeup bag. Another thing that I really like is the applicator. Comparing it to the NY

Red Ombre Pin-Up

Image
Hello my lovelies :) Today's make-up was inspired by the classic pin-up's but as always, I like to darken it up. So with that being said, I used darker shades to make a slight cut crease, but stuck to the classic look of matte eyeshadows.  To also stick with the classic look, I paired it with a classic red lip, but with an ombre gradient to make it  have a more modern twist. Normally I'm not able to make a decent gradient ombre with lipsticks, but I tried using the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks in Redrum and Unicorn Blood. And it turned out better than I had expected since they are fast drying and have a matte finish. What I did was use a lip brush (the OCC lipbrush that comes with liptars) and outlined my lips in Unicorn Blood and slighting brought it in. I than applied Redrum in the middle and with using the lip brush I blended it out slightly. Then to make sure I had a nice gradient and to make sure the edges were more crisp, I used a litt
